Course Improvements
Over the last year, Gleneagle has made some great strides in improving the quality of the golf course. With an increased maintenance budget, new equipment and a new dedication to improving every aspect of the facility, we are striving to provide the highest quality course possible. Here are some of the improvements you will see, on and off the course:
- Well manicured greens being cut and rolled consistently, providing a fantastic putting surface.
- Increased frequency of cut to all areas of the golf course.
- Increased attention to bunker maintenance and quality.
- Driving range re-opened with new matts, dividers and golf balls.
- New fleet of EZ-GO carts with club covers.
- Fully stocked pro shop with the top named brands at a reasonable price
- Full service club repair providing re-gripping, loft/lie adjustments, re-shafting and custom built sets
Pond Maintenance
Before After
After years of neglect and oversight, many of our ponds have become overgrown and infested with weeds. We decided to pick out a couple of the ponds that were in need of the most attention, and see what could be done. As you can see, the difference is dramatic! This winter, we will be reclaiming many of the ponds on the golf course. We hope you enjoy the new look and will update pictures as the project progresses.
Drainage
As some of you many know, Gleneagle has historically been a wet and soggy golf course throughout the winter. With the help of a knowledgeable and dedicated superintendent, we have begun to identify the worst areas and are working to improve the drainage. This includes installing new french drains and a thorough fairway aerification program. Look for the course to be drying out and conditions to improve, tee to green!

Turf Quality
One of our main focuses in 2012 will be improving the turf quality throughout the course. With a significant improvement in our fertilization and over-seeding practices, you will see the conditions continue to improve during the 2012 season.
Tee signs
Coming in January 2012, we will be installing new tee signs throughout the course. These will include trash cans and ball washers in one complete unit, and will improve the look at every hole. We are offering sponsorships for these new tee signs for local businesses and individuals. Please refer to our community page under the contact us section for further details.
Thank you for continuing to support Gleneagle Golf Course. We are excited about the 2012 season and look forward to having you out here. We welcome any comments or suggestions you may have. Feel free to stop by the pro shop after your round and let us know what we can do to make your round more enjoyable.
